Complementary feed for dogs and cats intended to enrich the ration with essential fatty acids and vitamins, without preservatives and colourings. The product is of pharmaceutical quality.
Borage oil is cold-pressed and obtained from the seeds of borage - Borago officinalis. It is the richest source of the nutritionally important gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which belongs to the omega-6 fatty acids.
Unsaturated fatty acids are collectively referred to as vitamin F and are part of phospholipids, which form the building blocks of cell membranes. At the same time, they are starting substances for the synthesis of vital eicosanoids. These are substances with the character of tissue hormones that influence the function and growth of various types of epithelial cells. These substances may also play an important role in the regulation of biological functions:
secretion of electrolytes in the small intestine and pulmonary epithelium
regulation of sodium excretion by the kidneys and influence on their barrier function
regulation of protein transport
They mediate the body's response in immune and allergic reactions. They have an indispensable function in the pathophysiology of inflammation and its processes.
Since gamma-linolenic acid occurs only rarely in foods, borage oil is an accessible supplement to cover the daily requirement of this acid.
We recommend using as part of treatment:
for dermatological diseases
atopic eczema
rheumatism
arthritis
asthma
allergic reactions to animal fats
The product is intended for all categories of dogs and cats and is safe for pregnant and lactating females as well as for growing young animals.
Average oil analysis depending on the current batch:
