Description

Abilar® VET
Resin ointment for damaged skin and wounds in animals. A versatile ointment with soothing and healing properties, suitable for insect bites, superficial abrasions, bite wounds and deeper wounds. It helps reduce itching and irritation and supports wound healing.

Product description
Abilar® VET forms a protective film on the skin that is difficult to dissolve even in moist conditions, such as wound exudate or on paws, paw pads, claws, hooves or horns. The resin-scented ointment also reduces the animal’s urge to lick the wound. It contains resin from Norway spruce (Picea abies), collected and purified in Finnish Lapland. The ointment does not sting.

Directions for use
First clean and dry the wound area. In the case of purulent wounds, removing the hair from the treated area and its surroundings helps speed up drying. Apply Abilar® VET directly onto the wound or alternatively onto a dressing, which is then placed on the wound. Repeat the treatment every 1–3 days as needed. At each further treatment, clean and dry the wound again, reapply the ointment and use a new dry dressing if needed.

Try to prevent the animal from licking the wound, as saliva slows down and may even prevent healing. If necessary, use a protective collar. Use the ointment until the damaged skin or wound has completely healed. The duration of use may range from a few days to several weeks depending on the depth of the damage.

- use within 12 months after first opening
- store tightly closed at 15–30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use on animals that are hypersensitive to resin or to any of the other ingredients of the ointment. If you are hypersensitive to resin or to any of the other ingredients of the ointment, use protective gloves when applying the product.
Do not use on horses whose meat is intended for human consumption. Available without veterinary prescription.
