Ceramic heat bulbs, also known as dark radiator, are often used for rearing chicks or in animal enclosures to heat the animals. A dark radiator ensures a natural day and night rhythm because the dark radiators only provide heat and no light. These bulbs are made of high-quality glazed ceramic.

Dark radiators have a longer lifespan than regular heat lamps. In addition, the dark radiators are 100% efficient. All energy is converted into heat and therefore no energy is lost to light. Always use the dark radiators in combination with a ceramic socket, as the heat lamps become very hot. The dark radiators can possibly be used in combination with an aluminium heat lamp. The reflector ensures that the heat is better distributed and reduces heat loss upwards.
